Why I feel Sasha Banks didn’t go to far, my excitement for NXT, and evolution

Highspots:

  • NXT going live to Wednesday nights on USA network is huge. Not only will the rating be competing with AEW, but Triple H really has the audience and spotlight to prove why he should be in charge after Vince decided to retire. I think this is really good for wrestling all together and I am excited to see the future of NXT.
  • I been talking about wanting a deep story with Kof and him and Orton have glued me in. Revival and Orton together is a deep threat and a future tag team in the making. Also the sympathy of one of my favorites Xaiver selling a leg break is a great add to this story. I am all in on this storyline right now.
  • I know my girl Bayley gets a lot of hate, but you all have to be invested into Charlotte vs Bayley. I know a lot think that Charlotte will automatically win this feud but I disagree. Charlotte has had titles, media and shine she should be thinking like Daniel and start putting over talent not bury them. I would love to see Bayley turn heel and or win this feud somehow. To me Bayley is the most underrated wrestler in the WWE. Her wrestling skills are incredible and yes her promos could use some work but she is not writing her own promos. I way of Bayley and Sasha reuniting at some point would be a great way to book Survivor Series.
  • Sami and Shinsuke together as a team or Sami as the manager is something that really really intrigues me. WWE has a hard time developing talent that doesn’t speak fluent english and I think Sami with Shinsuke could be gold.
  • Buddy defeating DB on Smackdown was a simple display of that you don’t always have to be the guy that you can help and put talent over. I loved this match and I am loving everything Buddy Murphy is doing right now.
  • I absolutely loved Ziggler vs Roman, it was my favorite match of the week. I would love a program with these two and with the right storyline, Zigs being Roman’s attacker would be great. Sure Dean returning to attack or even Rollins would be surprising but it’s all about the story for me.
  • We have new tag team champions and this could be an interesting storyline. Still feeling on this one. Curious if they turn Rollins or Braun or if we get babyface vs babyface for that title.
  • A lot of people online were complaining about Natalya’s dad being brought up in this story and the line that Sasha used was “go to hell and tell your daddy I said HI.” First of all I can bet Sasha was uncomfortable saying that line and that Natalya pitched the idea. I can see if from both sides of there is no payoff why bring this tragedy into a storyline. I can also see the side of wanting to bring real life stories into WWE and heels have been very weak these last couple years and a real heel would say some horrible shit like this. Sasha is a great heel and what I really like is there is more than wrestler in this storyline. She has a story with Natalya and she also has a story with Becky. This is the hottest feud in WWE right now and it hasn’t even started.

Natty Insight:

  • I like the concept of the king of the ring tournament, but I personally wanted long, competitive, false finishing matches. King of like cruiserweight classic and G1.
  • Babyface Kevin Owens and babyface Miz is not for me. I don’t have sympathy for baby faces that complain and bring up money. You are in the WWE, a superstar. I don’t think the fans should believe or even think they are less.
  • For me the Rey Mysterio retirement tease did nothing for me. First he was backstage and second the crying for some reason didn’t make me feel bad for him. It felt like a cheesy soap opera and I didn’t dig it.
  • Women’s tag team titles aren’t there for me yet. I think Bliss and Nikki are great together but I don’t see it long term. If they used boss n hug correct and IIConics that could of been something special but they wasted it. There needs to be more tag teams for this to be taken seriously.
  • I’m not the biggest comedy fan unless it’s my new day. The 24/7 championship was cute and had it’s laughs at the beginning, but I am over it at this point. I like R-Truth but Drake and the other come off and not as a superstar, unrealistic and honestly embarrassing.
  • There have been rumors that Evolution 2 isn’t happening due to not having enough talent. I disagree! Your potential card could of had tag team titles with Natalya and Beth vs. IIconics vs. Bliss and Nikki vs the Bellas, could of had Lita vs. Charlotte, could of had Bayley vs anyone on that women’s roster, and also could of had Becky vs Sasha headlining with also surprise appearances from legends the future of nxt.
  • I am probably the only one, but the fiend isn’t a character that I invest or care about. I know so many are going crazy and thinking this is the best thing in wrestling in forever, I Just don’t see it or feel it. I was a huge Undertaker fan,but Kane, Boogieman or any of the supernatural dark characters were never interesting to me.

Sasha Banks returns and so does’t women’s wrestling, Summerslam aftermath, Shane/KO continuing, Rollins emotional win and Cedric VS Drew

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has had a great four days of wrestling. I thought takeover and Summerslam were extremely good and the return of Sasha Banks on Raw seriously made my week. My favorite moment on takeover was watching Candice Larae wrestler, she is one of my favorites in NXT and I can’t wait to see more from her. I thought Summerslam was a solid show but my two favorite matches were Rollins VS Brock and Becky VS Natalya. To me those two matches had the best wrestling and storytelling. Got to give Brock credit for selling for Rollins and putting together a lengthy amazing match. I was very happy for Seth Rollins. He is my favorite wrestler and with all the negative reaction he has been getting I could tell this win meant everything to him which made me very happy. The Natalya vs Becky match was amazing to me. The submissions, selling and story told in that match was absolutely incredible.

I enjoyed parts of Raw and that’s what made it a must see show for me. I liked Rollins thanking the fans and his little promo. I would of enjoyed more aggression and emotion out of him and not shaking AJ’s hand but I am all for AJ VS Rollins in a detailed storyline.

Samoa Joe beat Sami really quick which I felt bad for Sami but if this is a slow face build for Joe I am all for it.

This is a piece of the show I did not like at all. Zigs is one of my favorite in ring wrestlers and what they are doing to him right now of making him a whiny loser makes me sad.

I’m liking the potential storyline we are getting with Mysterio. I don’t know if this is teasing retirement or for him to continue with Andrade but very interested.

Match of Raw for me was Cedric VS Drew. Wow this match was amazing and I am so glad they let Cedric do his thing. IF you don’t consider Cedric a star after that I am not sure what to tell you. I been following him since the cruiserweight classic and I just want him pushed, one of my favorites.

Bliss and Cross as tag team champions right now is good, I like it. This is a good slow build story until one of them turns on each other.

Moment of the whole damn week and weekend was Sasha Banks returning on Monday Night Raw. She first attacked Natalya which I wasn’t the biggest fan of but it did the work. I would of preferred Becky cutting a promo and Sasha attacking her but oh boy this did the job. Sasha was using chairs on Becky and trash talking, this was everything and more. The best women’s beat down since maybe the golden era with Trish and Lita. Glad Sasha Banks is back and sorry if I offend any of the other females but women’s division was lost and not I feel it is back.

It looks like Owens and Shane storyline is continuing. Not something I am really invested into but as long as there is a story I will give it a shot.

Charlotte and Moon was a good match but not sure why Ember who lost to the champion is against Charlotte who beat Trish. I really feel for Ember, they keep burying her.

Good promo by new day, they always entertain me. I really hope Xaiver gets to be part of the king of the ring. I love everything Kofi has been doing, I would like more aggression but really interested in the Orton feud continuing.

Wow, Buddy Murphy is no longer a secret. What an amazing match with Roman Reigns. These cruiserweights or former ones are really shining first Ali, then Cedric and now Buddy, I am really loving it.

Joe VS Owens was all for Owens to get screwed over by Elias. Honestly I was not ever really invested into this match so I was alright with the ending. I am not sure how I feel about KO being treated like Austin and Shane being treated like Vince. I don’t see Owens as an underdog so it’s an interesting story we are in right now.

Great backstage segment with Rowan and DB attacking Buddy and making him admit he lied about Roman’s attacker.

Raw reunion, Stone Cold show stealer, Zigs VS HBK? Natalya’s fire, And why are we cheering when Becky is acting like a heel?

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a great week and enjoying all the wrestling. I thought Raw and Smackdown were excellent shows this week and I am really looking forward to Smackville this Sunday.

The Raw reunion was great and I loved the way it started out. John Cena is always great on the mic and has great energy. The Usos VS Revival match was alright. I did like Rikishi in his sons corner but Arn Anderson in Revival corner was something I wish was booked or even Sasha Banks in their corner.

I did think WWE made a big mistake not letting Carmella be the first woman to win the 24/7 title. Kelly and all the divas/legends winning it made it feel less important.

Drew and Cedric have some special potential with this feud. I’m a huge Cedric fans so of course I would like him to stand tall at the end of the feud.

My favorite match on Raw was Joe VS Roman. Joe and Roman both never get enough credit for their in ring work and storytelling, even with this match not so longer it was a really good match. I see potential with these two feuding or teaming.

It was good seeing Mysterio get a win over Sami. I love Mysterio and think him and a Ricochet feud would be amazing.

I thought Bray attacking Mick with his own move was really cool. Even though I’m not too into the gimmick I loved this segment.

I have to say I love everything Natalya has been these past two weeks. Her promos have trumped Becky’s and her babyface along with the storytelling of their past has been good. Becky has taken shots at journalist for calling her arrogant and at the end of the day she can say what she wants and do what she wants. She still left wrestling and she is still not even a top 5 women’s wrestler in ring. Her character is great but I would take Sasha, Bayley, Natalya over her. Becky has been my top 3 wrestler for years but I am not a fan of her the man character. I am hoping Natalya wins in Canada with Bret by her side. I know a lot of fans will freak out if Becky loses but has the women’s raw championship been so not important or competitive in years. Becky can do her thing, but I do feel it’s time for change and to move away from the 4-horsewomen and engage into the future into NXT talent.

A perfect ending to the Raw reunion was tipsy Steve Austin being Stone Cold. Brings memories back and always love seeing and hearing him.

A really good match on Smackdown between Apollo and Shinsuke. I really feel there is something here between these two. Shinsuke is a good heel and Apollo really needs something right now. He is so amazing in ring and I can feel his charisma, really want to see more matches with him.

We had a really short match between Ember and Charlotte but we also had Ember turning her back on Bayley. This will be interesting going into Summerslam, but I really want to see more of Liv and her character update and change.

Moment of the week for me was the HBK/MIZ/Ziggler segment. Oh boy do I want to see Ziggler VS HBK now. Ziggler mad a lot of good points about HBK coming back was a mistake, I really do think ending this story against Ziggler would be perfect.

Solid segment with Orton and Kofi. They are giving us a little story to work with, hopefully we get more because as of right now not too engaged but willing to give this a chance. Match itself was alright but was all for Orton to interfere. Deep down I really wanted Ali VS. Kofi at Summerslam.

I liked Finn’s promo and him VS Bray at Summerslam should be good. I know Finn will be going away for a little while but this was a match we were supposed to get originally so this should be good.

We didn’t get much of a Roman/Owens match but the kicking Drew, Elias and Shane’s ass was pretty damn cool. Owens is over and as much as I do not approve of him using the stunner I love everything he has been doing as a babyface.

Should Natalya beat Becky? Should Owens use the Stunner? Liv Morgan returns, and Rollins gets a rematch with the beast

Hey Everyone, I hope you have been enjoying your week. It has been three nights in a row of wrestling and we had some positives and some negatives. As far as Raw and Smackdown goes I thought both shows were descent. Extreme Rules wasn’t my favorite PPV this year but at least we get a more aggressive Ricochet and Seth Rollins.

Paul creatively is amazing but his promos for Brock have been repetitive for a while. It really did nothing for me, I see the hate on social media for Seth Rollins winning to get that rematch with Brock, honestly Rollins is has been the man the wrestler carrying this industry for the last two years, he deserves at least a rematch. I don’t care how long it takes but I want Rollins to retrain and face Roman at Mania.

Good tag team match with Ricochet and Usos. I just wish Usos had a story with Revival, instead of one off matches. Tag team division needs a spark.

My favorite part of Raw was Cedric getting the win over Drew. Drew by looks is what a white man would think a star looks like, but for me Cedric is the star and I hope Cedric gets a push.

One thing that everyone seems to be a fan of that I am not is Bray. I think Bray has a very talented mind but this character I am not feeling and him feuding with Finn again is nothing intruiging.

Natalya advances to face Becky at Summerslam. Becky is a great character and she really know how to make the fans love her but athletic and in ring wise Natalya, Sasha, Bayley are way ahead of her. I think this the man stuff did take Becky down a little, you don’t need to be super feminine but copying stone colds character is fizzling out for me. I like characters that are unique and organic and at a point she was, I preferred straight fire Becky and BEcky is one of my favorites I have just not been happy with her booking and matches lately. Natalya is a character I have always been invested in and I would be all for her winning in her hometown at Summerslam.

Miz and Ziggler as a tag team or a feud I would be interested in. Looking for another feud from these two.

I’m so happy to see Liv back on TV. A lot of people say Mandy, Mella, Bliss looks like the stars but to me Liv has everything and more. The offense she got was really good against Charlotte and with a teased character change I am really interested.

Cesaro and Black have a really good match but storytelling wise I am not sure where they go from here.

Bayley and Ember defeat Mandy and Sonya quickly. Match itself was whatever but after the match Bayley challenging Ember was really good. These two will have a great match together but am Ember heel turn would be unexpected and interesting.

Kevin Owens has been great as a babyface, but it’s my same issue with Becky right now. BE original don’t copy the former wrestlers attitude or finishes.

Stomping grounds after match, Rollins/Becky and who is next for Ricochet?

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a great week of wrestling. I have really enjoyed this week of wrestling, it feels like a new era and I like what they are improving on.

Stomping grounds may be my favorite paperview of the year, I really enjoyed it. The PPV started out fantastic with cruiserweight action, I love the cruiserweights. It really makes me wish Ali had a run with the title and him and Cedric had another run in a feud. The match was electrifying lots of good wrestling in this match. I love the booking side of this too, Drew is a wrestler all around that I have really enjoyed watching. His heel work is great and his submissions are so creative. Really happy for him.

I liked Becky VS Lacey, I just thought there was missed spots and botches on Lacey’s end. I thought it all made Becky look strong and even though the main event wasn’t the best match on the card I enjoyed her helping out Seth Rollins in the main event and them uniting together. It doesn’t need to be a cheesy love story for them to be booked as a couple. I like what I am seeing so far.

I’ve watched this match twice and I love Ricochet but this was probably my least favorite wrestling match on the card. I did like the ending and Rico winning, but match just wasn’t what I wanted as of a story.

Bayley VS. Bliss was the match I was most looking forward to on the card and all together I really enjoyed it. The Nikki Cross interfering part I wasn’t a fan of and would of loved for this to go longer but we will get a rematch and very much so looking forward to this.

I enjoyed this match and mainly because of the booking. Roman stood tall on top and this is just what Roman needed.

Kofi VS. Zigs I loved. I am a huge Zigs fan so it would be hard to disappoint me. This was my favorite match on the show. Honestly good for WWE for booking Kofi so well, he has been an amazing champion.

I thought Monday Night Raw was the best it’s been all year, I really enjoyed it. We opened up with Seth and Becky together, I thought this was a good promo but Becky did look uncomfortable. The thing is they just need to be organic we all know both of them care for each other and may be better friends than soul mates in the end, they should just be themselves. I like the match we get at extreme rules because this means the end. I am so done hearing and watching Lacey, I have been done with Corbin since the beginning of time it feels. They aren’t good heels, they are beyond annoying and make the product feel cringe at times.

Really good tag team elimination action, but I am not liking Daniel losing and take the pins as of late now. Usos VS. Revival was good, but I don’t like Revival losing this soon already. Really good tag team action, hoping to see more of it on Raw.

I can’t help but love all this 24/7 title stuff. R-Truth is money and Carmella is even more money. I love it all and just want more stories out of the title.

I really liked this surprise we got on Raw and how come not many are talking about it. The Understaker returned to save Roman, that was awesome. Now we will be getting Roman and Taker VS Shane and Drew. I am so excited for this.

Kind of excited after Kofi defeated Sami and Kevin we got a new story happening. Joe VS Kofi happening at extreme rules and I am excited for this one. Ricochet is athletic but Kofi is athletic on a whole another level, really excited for this little guy vs big guy match.

Besides Becky the women’s action on Raw has been very dull. We have Natalya and Naomi lose to Nikki and Bliss. I would honestly put the tag titles on Nikki and Bliss at this point they are great together and both could use some gold to elevate them and the story.

My favorite match on Raw was Ricochet VS. AJ Styles. This was a really good match. I am hoping this can become a story and feud.

Smackdown wasn’t it’s strongest this week, but wrestlers on tour to Japan and holiday is coming up, it is understandable. We started out with some good tag team actions with New Day and the tag team champions. Again Daniel takes the pin, I am not liking this. I have a fear that the titles will be coming up them soon. Daniel is so good at what he does and makes everything mean something, that’s the part that makes me sad. I l0ve New Day and for what they are they are great but tag titles are not what I want from them.

Elias pretty much defeated the Miz. Him and Shane attack Miz and attack him after the match. I have loved Miz’s promos and everything he has done as a babyface, but at this point it feels like being a babyface isn’t helping him at all.

I wasn’t a big fan of Bayley losing of this match in general but it is a good way of continuing her and Bliss and Nikki story. This is the story I am more invested into right now. I think the best booking for extreme rules would be a rematch of the kenddo stick match and Bayley just destroy Bliss at the end with the stick. Bayley is my favorite part of wrestling right now and I hope they stick with her.

It looks like we are already burying Ember Moon. They had Sonya defeat her, I would like Mella getting involved in this to help Ember out. Ember is way to talented to lose to Mandy and Sonya, nothing against them they just aren’t great wrestlers. Sonya has improved so much, but she is no Sasha, Ember or Bayley.

Kofi VS. Zigs was a really good match and a good way to end the feud. I’m sure Zigs has things going on his life and he will be ready to return once they have something for him. Feud was short but I enjoyed it.

This is my blog for the week, I hope you all enjoyed. If you have any feedback or topics you would like discussed on my blog, please reach out @flipsandslams.

Stomping Grounds

Cruiserweight championship: I see Tony retaining here, but Drew as a heel champion would bring a lot to 205 live. 205 is great and getting better, but I do not get invested into Tony personally. With that said Tony is amazing in ring.

Big E & Xaiver VS. Sami and Kevin: I see Xaiver and Big E winning this, but I would like to see KO and Sami to win. First of all booking heels to constantly lose I am not a fan of, no reason why baby faces cannot take the pin or submission also. Second we have seen KO and Sami together and as opponents, I think it’s time to seperate them.

Tag team championship: I have a surprise win and Heavy Machinery defeating Bryan and Rowan. Wrestling websites if you can believe have been saying Bryan wants more of a part time schedule and he has also been losing as of late against Rollins which was an amazing match by the way. Another thing is tag team division on Smackdown is stale so it may be time for a new champion even though Daniel is money in the ring and on the mic.

United States Championship: I have this match ending in DQ or not contest somehow. I see Ricochet eventually getting the title but not at stomping grounds.

Roman VS Drew: I really feel we need a heel to win to elevate the heel stable with Shane on this PPV but I am taking Roman to defeat Drew. Roman also is someone that needs a boost.

Universal Championship: I cannot see any way of Corbin defeating Rollins at all, I see this being a strong match for Rollins to retain and prove why he is the best wrestler in the world. I also see him getting vicious and violent.

Raw women’s championship: I see Becky Lynch retaining at Stomping Grounds. I know a lot of fans and journalist say there is no one for Becky to feud with and that is why she will drop title but I disagree. I think Lacey was a bad first choice it did make straight fire not so much fire, but Becky is great and still is over and made it all work. Wrestlers that I would love to see face Becky are Natalya, Bliss, Ruby, Dana and Sasha who I do believe will be returning. Heel Sasha VS. edgy baby Becky would be feud of the year.

WWE championship: This will be a great match and I am looking forward to this match the most, but I do see Ziggler losing. I have Kofi retaining in strong fashion with the wrestling ability this match will provide.

Smackdown women’s championship: This is a match that most may not be looking forward to, but these two have chemistry and are bringing that rumored real life heat between Sasha and Bliss into this match. I am really looking forward to this match but I do have Bayley retaining and I hope I’m right. Bliss is on Smackdown and would be a good next feud for Becky, but it’s also too soon for Bayley to lose, this is her best run ever in the WWE and I am loving everything Bayley is doing. She is my favorite and all of this is beautiful to see, I just hope we have it for much longer.

Rollins burning everyone down, women’s division needs a spark, Bayley carrying the division and New Day reunites

Natty Insight: What all wrestling shows have been missing in the last 10 years has been how to start off the show and how to end the show. Sure the stuff in the middle during Raw was some filler, but the beginning and end of show were amazing.

Highspots:

  • Seth Rollins has been improving and establishing himself is the greatest wrestler in the world more and more every single show. Rollins has always been my favorite, but I do see the talk on social media. The talk that Rollins shouldn’t beat Brock or be the one to face Brock, I saw a lot of that hate and still do. You have got to be blind if you are not impressed with everything Rollins has done not only on the mic and in the ring, but to Brock. Who would have ever thought that Brock would be the second star compared to Rollins, not many. Rollins really sculptured this show for me. With his fire insults and promo on Zayne, Owens and Corbin, along with having an incredible match with Owens to main event.
  • Miz TV was alright, but what I really enjoyed was the tag team match. Miz Braun and Ricochet against Joe, Lashley and Cesaro was amazing wrestling. It really got me to think about Joe and who would be a good opponent for him to face. Honestly Braun VS. Joe would be a great big man feud, but wrestling quality wise may not add much. I feel Ricochet is ready and you can make it a fatal 4-way or triple threat, but it’s time to put some gold on Ricochet.
  • Another good wrestling match on Raw was Revival VS. Usos VS. Hawkin and Ryder. I enjoyed this match, yes they have had way better matches but I thought this was good way to put Usos in the driver seat to chase the tag titles and win them at Summerslam.
  • This 24-7 title stuff I absolutely love. Besides Rollins, this was my favorite segment on the show. Them being stuck in an elevator just talking about life and funny things, just had me going. R-Truth is so good at what he does and so far I have loved his story along with Carmella.
  • Speaking of Carmella she had a good match on Smackdown with Sonya. I know I get in my feelings a lot about the blonde white females and how WWE loves to push those girl, but Carmella has improved in ring as well as Liv and the heat they get online is not valid. Sonya in my eyes is a future star and I prefer seeing Mandy in the role as the heel manager over a wrestler.
  • Great promo by New Day and Owens, Sami and Ziggler on Smackdown. Big E really brings that fire back to New Day and his promo defending Kofi was really great. Sami is good at playing the heel in promos while Ziggler has just been amazing, I like his character change. The entire promo told a really good story, I liked it a lot. The match itself was very good as well. Love all these guys!
  • Nikki Cross and Bayley had a really good wrestling match. The match wasn’t necessarily long but they worked with the time they had and very well. This was my favorite women’s match in weeks, I really enjoyed it. I also just love how Bayley keeps adding more to her wrestling moveset, she is always improving I love that.

Lowspots:

  • They are trying to make Lars come across as this monster, but it is just not working. Him squashing Lucha Houseparty isn’t doing much for either side. Maybe throwing Lars some enhancement talent until he can improve in ring and on mic would be the best option at this point. To me he doesn’t come across as a monster when he should be.
  • Can this Lacey and Becky feud just end, please. I don’t know how the women’s division all throughout 2018 was at its peek and now we are getting inexperienced wrestlers facing talent like Becky Lynch and Bayley. Bayley taking the pin in her hometown bothered me. The match quality besides Bayley having some cool spots was not great. We are back in this stigma of the white blondes with athletic and modeling experience are facing the actual wrestlers, lets just hope we don’t repeat the divas era. It’s almost like the women’s division needs some new talents from NXT to just debut and spice things up, kind of like what Riott Squad did at one point when they debuted.
  • I know a lot of people have said Firefly funhouse has been their favorite part of Raw this last month, but for me it hasn’t. I don’t find it funny or entertaining. I respect Bray and think his ideas are interesting and that he is very talented, but this just isn’t for me.
  • I like the Miz, but him facing Elias, then Drew, then Shane kind of just felt like burying Miz. Shane has been a good heel and Drew with him is good, but it just needs a new feel.
  • Tag team division on Smackdown is a bit of a mess right now. Not high on heavy machinery, there comedy I am not into. I also don’t feel Daniel Bryan and Royan fit being tag team champions right now, maybe if they had actual competition I would feel it more.
