Wrestlemania Night 2

WWE truly gave us something to get our minds of what’s going on in this crazy world. I enjoyed both nights and thought WWE really was creative and unique with their shows this weekend. I went into night 1 on Sunday so would like to dive into night 2 today.

One of the better pre show matches we have got in recent memory was Liv defeating Natalya. I would like to see Natalya turn heel and for Liv to really get someone to work with. This girl has so much passion for the wrestling business and works so hard, I can see her being a huge star. When they reboot her being blonde I really didn’t get that because to me her personality matches the girl with pink hair, the edgy girl now the girl next door.

For me personally opening matches that are long and a story I am not invested into is hard for me. I think Charlotte is one of the most natural gifted athletes, her and Bianca are the next Kurt and Brock. They are so gifted, but with that said I was not invested into the storyline of Rhea and Charlotte. I never saw Rhea on Charlotte’s level. Charlotte may be the greatest of all time and she should be treated as such. Sure this may up NXT’s ratings or give us some dream matches, but Charlotte belongs on Raw or Smackdown and belongs at the top. She is above most and I honestly didn’t see a problem with her handling Rhea.

There was two matches personally for me that I didn’t see in night 1. Night 1 for me didn’t have any filler but Otis and Ziggler I expected more out of and Lashley vs. Black had no story and no reasoning for me to care. The Otis story was good, but I felt Mandy went to rescue Otis too soon and this didn’t need to be on Wrestlemania. Also raw tag team championships was kinda a short match with no story, but we did get Bianca debuting. I am so hyped for this. I am a huge Bianca fan and really feel this can be the 2.0 team extreme.

Twitter gave Edge and Orton so much heat for their match at Wrestlemania. People said it was too long and the most boring match in history, I disagree. They were trying to be creative, sure they could of made it shorter, but this was their creative idea, their decision and I appreciated it. I liked how they traveled to different rooms and how much they expressed the beating. At times I seriously thought one of them died. I hope this story continues.

The Smackdown women’s championship was my favorite in ring wrestling match of night 2. I was invested into this story, I thought they told the story perfectly with Sasha/Bayley. Just little touches here and there but no full turn at all. I really do like it and I would love it if it was Bayley turning on Sasha instead, it would be such a swerve and they could really show some of that footage when Sasha was gone, how she fell out of love of wrestling. They could make it personal and real, it could be really good.

The best comedy angle in forevers was the firefly funhouse match, I laughed so damn hard. Cena and Bray put all the creative juices into this along with creative I am sure, it was what everyone needed at a time like this. Probably my favorite part of night 2.

I’m sure everyone has their opinions, but I actually didn’t want Drew to win. I wanted Brock to beat Drew and for the story to continue. We have seen the same story so many times now, someone defeats Brock at Wrestlemania and uses all their finishing moves over and over again until they pin Brock. I felt this story could of continued and that Drew winning it in front of the crowd would of meant way more.

Raw has really been solid since 2020. The Orton/Edge/Matt Hardy storyline really has been the top storyline in wrestling for me. I loved Orton being a master heel and Matt really cutting incredible promos and bringing up his relationship with Edge. With the rumors of Matt leaving the WWE, I would really like Jeff Hardy involved in Orton hurting his brother and other brother Edge. I think Jeff Hardy and Orton could have another amazing match. I wouldn’t want Jeff to get destroyed or squashed but a good storyline before Orton goes to Edge.

I really enjoyed Charlotte’s promo on Raw, she really is better as a heel and a swagger with all that confidence. I read a lot of people complaining online about NXT having Charlotte vs. Bianca on their show and it not being on a PPV. NXT needs ratings, they need to be taken seriously, Charlotte going over there to have a match with what I feel is a mega star in the next Charlotte of the WWE is gonna be meaningful and stamp in that NXT is a third brand not just a place where talent train and grow.

One thing I just haven’t been invested into is Shayna and Becky and I do like both talents but so far this storyline hasn’t got me attached in any way. I am more excited about who Bayley and Charlotte are gonna face.

Drew has been getting more over every week. There are things about his baby face run I love and some things I can do with out. I am really looking forward to him vs. Brock, but I am more intrigued about what Ricochet can do against Brock this coming Thursday. Brock just always has better matches against smaller wrestlers.

I feel like I say this every week but Smackdown really has been a struggle for me to sit and watch for at least a month now. I am usually just looking forward to what Bayley and Sasha are doing and now Trin. Trin defeated Carmella and I am just excited we get her vs. Bayley. These two are both my top favorite females in the business and I cannot wait to see what they can do at super showdown. Not only are they making HERstory when it comes to women’s wrestling and women’s rights in Saudi but it will be the first time a hispanic and Black female wrestler in Saudi. I adore both these women and can’t wait to watch these two tear the house down. My dream scenario would be Trin vs. Bayley vs. Sasha for mania but hey a girl can dream right. What I could see happen is Naiomi win at super show down or Chamber and then wrestlemania being her vs. Sasha but I am all for any of these three women as champ or winning at Mania.

Everyone has their opinions on the Bella’s being inducted into the hall of fame. Truthfully I was never a Bella Twins fan so I’m not gonna act like I was. I have been vocally about the divas era and that I gave up and stopped watching wrestling during the divas era, my passion just died. It wasn’t my taste and wasn’t the path and message I stand for but with that said they contributed a lot to the WWE and worked their asses off when chances were being taken away. I truly respect them for that. Everyone has a different flavor, different interests, that’s why we have different characters and storylines. Congrats to them and as a wrestling community let’s not spread hate, lets respect and appreciate what we’ve had and where we are now in women’s wrestling.

Raw reunion, Stone Cold show stealer, Zigs VS HBK? Natalya’s fire, And why are we cheering when Becky is acting like a heel?

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a great week and enjoying all the wrestling. I thought Raw and Smackdown were excellent shows this week and I am really looking forward to Smackville this Sunday.

The Raw reunion was great and I loved the way it started out. John Cena is always great on the mic and has great energy. The Usos VS Revival match was alright. I did like Rikishi in his sons corner but Arn Anderson in Revival corner was something I wish was booked or even Sasha Banks in their corner.

I did think WWE made a big mistake not letting Carmella be the first woman to win the 24/7 title. Kelly and all the divas/legends winning it made it feel less important.

Drew and Cedric have some special potential with this feud. I’m a huge Cedric fans so of course I would like him to stand tall at the end of the feud.

My favorite match on Raw was Joe VS Roman. Joe and Roman both never get enough credit for their in ring work and storytelling, even with this match not so longer it was a really good match. I see potential with these two feuding or teaming.

It was good seeing Mysterio get a win over Sami. I love Mysterio and think him and a Ricochet feud would be amazing.

I thought Bray attacking Mick with his own move was really cool. Even though I’m not too into the gimmick I loved this segment.

I have to say I love everything Natalya has been these past two weeks. Her promos have trumped Becky’s and her babyface along with the storytelling of their past has been good. Becky has taken shots at journalist for calling her arrogant and at the end of the day she can say what she wants and do what she wants. She still left wrestling and she is still not even a top 5 women’s wrestler in ring. Her character is great but I would take Sasha, Bayley, Natalya over her. Becky has been my top 3 wrestler for years but I am not a fan of her the man character. I am hoping Natalya wins in Canada with Bret by her side. I know a lot of fans will freak out if Becky loses but has the women’s raw championship been so not important or competitive in years. Becky can do her thing, but I do feel it’s time for change and to move away from the 4-horsewomen and engage into the future into NXT talent.

A perfect ending to the Raw reunion was tipsy Steve Austin being Stone Cold. Brings memories back and always love seeing and hearing him.

A really good match on Smackdown between Apollo and Shinsuke. I really feel there is something here between these two. Shinsuke is a good heel and Apollo really needs something right now. He is so amazing in ring and I can feel his charisma, really want to see more matches with him.

We had a really short match between Ember and Charlotte but we also had Ember turning her back on Bayley. This will be interesting going into Summerslam, but I really want to see more of Liv and her character update and change.

Moment of the week for me was the HBK/MIZ/Ziggler segment. Oh boy do I want to see Ziggler VS HBK now. Ziggler mad a lot of good points about HBK coming back was a mistake, I really do think ending this story against Ziggler would be perfect.

Solid segment with Orton and Kofi. They are giving us a little story to work with, hopefully we get more because as of right now not too engaged but willing to give this a chance. Match itself was alright but was all for Orton to interfere. Deep down I really wanted Ali VS. Kofi at Summerslam.

I liked Finn’s promo and him VS Bray at Summerslam should be good. I know Finn will be going away for a little while but this was a match we were supposed to get originally so this should be good.

We didn’t get much of a Roman/Owens match but the kicking Drew, Elias and Shane’s ass was pretty damn cool. Owens is over and as much as I do not approve of him using the stunner I love everything he has been doing as a babyface.
